Our client is a Dynamic Global Trading Organisation that defines itself through innovative thinking, market responsiveness and the use of cutting edge technologies. Their Asian trading operations are run out of the Sydney office and this is the second largest office for the organisation behind a European Head Office.

This is the opportunity to join a highly experienced, local development team that is responsible for the development of new analysis tools, launching of new products, connectivity to new markets and enhancements to a core propriety trading system. This team also works closely with other global development teams to ensure the organisation is using the latest technology available with a key focus on performance, speed and reliability.

Ongoing growth across the Asia Pacific region has led to a requirement to bring on additional Senior Microsoft Visual C++ Developer to join the Sydney office. This is a fantastic opportunity for a technology motivated developer with a passion for coding to work on highly complex Real Time systems. You will be required to design and develop a GUI interfaces for trading systems written in Visual C++, gather and define requirements of functionality with said systems and contribute to the mentoring and guidance of juniors within the team.

Essential Experience

• Minimum 4 years Visual C++ (VC++) development experience.
• Strong understanding of Win OS and GUI (MFC).
• Strong experience multi-threading with Win32.
• Good understanding of Standard Template Library (STL).
• Socket/Network (TCP/IP) programming.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Degree level education ether Computer Science or Numerical related.

Desirable Experience

• An appreciation of Financial Markets and Derivatives.
• Real Time messaging or messaging Middleware.
• Experience with FIX or SWIFT Protocols.
• Agile/Extreme programming methodologies.
• C#, VB, .NET, VBA & Excel.
• Alternate platform/OS experience - Unix, Linux GCC or Solaris CC.

This position is looking for a technically strong Microsoft Visual C++ (VC++) Developer with a greater focus on the code than on the subject matter, so applications are welcome from outside the financial services sector for comparable complex environments eg Telco, Defense, Networking, Gaming etc.
