Our client requires the services of a Network Engineer with extensive experience in the operation, maintenance & technical analysis of telecommunication networks and associated equipment. This role will pay up to $385 per day and will initially run for 6 months - it will most likely extend for the right individual. In this role you will provide Tier 1 pro-active management of the client's Network via Network Surveillance, Analysis, Routine Maintenance and Service Restoration tasks as part of the relevant management centre team. You will also provide in depth technical support on complex faults and assist in the development and implementation of standards and procedures.? This is a fully competent and operating engineering position where the incumbent is able to operate autonomously in most technical situations. In performing this role you will have the following responsibilities:- Proactively promote all OH&S procedures to ensure the team operates in a safe work environment. Manage customer and network problem reports on a day to day basis, responsible for resolving complex Real Time and long term technical faults. Develop and provide expert technical support. Be recognized by co-workers as an expert in fault management via undertaking additional research/analysis of complex faults not previously encountered. Perform Real Time network surveillance of network and facility equipment. Support the Senior Network Engineer or Group Leader in the management of problems or potential problems that could be hazardous to personnel and/or traffic. Establish and maintain quality working relationships with Tier-II Support, Engineering, Vendors & Customer Service, ensuring appropriate action is taken to maximise network availability, quality and maintain network integrity. Provide a high level of Tier one technical support for internal and external customers. Pro-active management of the network through alarm analysis, trending and liaison with appropriate Engineering groups and Vendors to ensure satisfactory resolution of technical problems. Prepare reports and other process improvements suggestions to deliver overall superior customer service. Manage and facilitate the authorisation of planned activity while ensuring NO planned activity in the network is approved without the provision of detailed procedures, test verification, back-out plans and vendor risk statements. Completion of complex projects and assignments as required, including the maintenance and continuous upgrade of the tools and procedures provided to operations, and particularly Information Technology tools. Ensure that all the associated documentation is kept current. Liaise with other groups associated with operations. Assist in the development and refinement of operations practices, to ensure efficient operation of network. Support all members of the team in all technologies as required.
