Mainframe Developer - COBOL - 12 Month Contract

Canberra
12 month contract opportunity for a Cobol Mainframe Developer.

You will be responsible for:

  • Development of technical solutions utilising design, system development and maintenance methodologies to meet business requirements;
  • Delivery of current and complete technical specifications, operational procedures and other documentation as required; and
  • Training and mentoring other staff

Essentials:

  • Demonstrated commercial experience in Cobol development
  • Experience with internal quality assurance processes to ensure the delivery of a quality software product including reviewing code and technical documentation produced by other team members
  • Demonstrated understanding of Build Forge, Quality Centre, MicroFocus and Sharepoint with ability to manage configuration management tasks in Build Forge
  • Demonstrated understanding of defect management, code merge and migration processes
  • Ability to work in sliced data environments and to prepare Test data to run unit test scripts
  • Ability to work autonomously

Highly Desirable:

  • Understanding of PAYG and Fringe Benefits Tax functionality
