Large Federal Government Department seeking an APS6 Data Miner to perform a wide scope of responsibilities.

Your new company
This Government Department is responsible for the development of service delivery policy and provide access to social, health and other payments and services.

Your new role

• Engagement with stakeholders to define analytical solutions to address business problems, identify trends and provide insight for future strategy
• Review, definition, integration and coordination of data from multiple sources, including structured and unstructured data
• Preparation of data for advanced analytics applications
• Design, analysis and specification of scalable and robust data-centric solutions
• Application of algorithms to predictive analytics problems, evaluation and interpretation of results
• Preparation of presentations and reports to present findings to stakeholders

What you'll need to succeed

• Strong knowledge of statistical concepts and data modelling techniques, data analysis and profiling as well as visualisation methods and tools
• Proven skills in data querying and manipulation skills across data science platforms and software

Tools:

• Teradata
• SQL
• Datawarehouse and
• SAP
• Great understanding of Data structures

Nice to have skills:

• Unstructured – Hadoop
• SAS | Enterprise Miner
• Python
• R + R Shiny
• Experience with Data Visualisation tools

Due to nature of this job you are required to be an Australian Citizen with a current security clearance or have the ability to undergo, obtain and maintain a security clearance.
