This is a 50/50 role split between Support/Asset Management and Junior Net. Developer! You will need to be interested in technology – software and hardware - and have an interest in programming and a basic skill level in coding in .net (vb.net or c#) and excel in multitasking to manage the onboarding/offboarding of new starters alongside desktop support.
The Support Engineer supports modern stable and high-performance internal infrastructure and supports the business with key deliverables.
The Support Engineer is a technical hands-on engineer focused on delivering IT support. This position interfaces with vendors, IT managers and staff and participates in resolving escalations and coordinating the communication of service status related to his/her area of responsibility.
Services provided include ad-hoc end-user support via Help Desk or in person, systems operations and admin, records administration, facilitating induction training for new staff and first and second level technical support. Technologies covered include many computer systems, with an emphasis on desktop IT, Avaya phones, Microsoft Office, AV/VC equipment and communications network support.

Your Responsibilities:
- Develop an effective and workable framework for managing and improving customer IT support in the organization (together with existing outsourced service provider).
- Manage and lead root cause analysis
- Ensure that fixes are implemented to all systems and prevent the same problem occurring on other systems
- Work with colleagues to ensure escalation process is followed
- Enthusiasm that helps you maintain and keep up to date with emerging
- Support the build and maintenance of SOE across all environments.
- Develop close relationships with the different teams and ensure work is carried out in a timely fashion
- Manage software licensing (asset management)
- Ensure that all systems comply with security policies.
- Ensure access systems are patched on a regular basis.
- Ensure backup and recovery procedures for the security system are in place.
Skills & experience
- Knowledge of SOE Builds
- Knowledge of Backup Systems
- Strong technical skills in Microsoft Windows
- Assist staff with any problems and queries regarding the use of IT hardware, software and other equipment;
- First and second-level technical support logging all support interactions into our task management system;
- Assist a full-time trainer with facilitating induction training and application training on our systems;
- Technical troubleshooting and problem resolution;
- Various network & administrative tasks: upgrades, rollouts, documentation, floor walking, office moves, etc.
- AV and VC setup and assistance;
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work after hours when required
