Key Responsibilities:

  • Manages and guides stakeholders in the development of capability skill set relevant to contract management in line with NSW Government framework
  • Coordinates the performance management of contracts and suppliers, addressing and escalating issues by monitoring contract KPIs and supplier performance information, intervening with remedial action before formal dispute resolution processes are required, and maintaining accurate contract and negotiation records within the department’s approved methods and tools.
  • Leading effective supplier induction processes and on-going supplier performance meetings, developing strong supplier relationships with the aim to add value and lower supply costs
  • Proactively identify and manage contract risks
  • Take a contract from signed document to an implemented service delivery including trouble shooting and liaison with other functional areas under guidance such as finance and communications
  • Liaising with other business units to address and identify impacts of changes with reference to regulations, financial impact and forecasting any issues
  • Monitor industry trends and whole-of-government requirements; recommend continuous improvement of internal procedures to ensure the development of practical and workable contracts
  • Contribute to reporting on financial, administrative and statutory matters, including complaints resolution related to IT hardware, software and services contracts at an agreed level with all relevant stakeholders; contribute to audit processes as required.

Essential requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field or equivalent experience in contract management.
  • Experience in commercial contracts, with particular skills around ICT contract management.
  • Experience in managing and negotiating with commercial vendors.
  • Obtain and maintain the requisite security clearances for this position. Should be willing to undergo National Police Check, Security Vetting and pre-employment checks
  • Citizen of Australia/New Zealand or Permanent Australian Resident
  • Drivers License
