The Role

Reporting to the Chief Information Officer as a true 2IC, this autonomous role will manage day to day IT Operations across 25 sites. Technically, the role will drive continuous improvement in maturity for infrastructure, data centre management, networks, service delivery, public cloud management, security, end user computing, vendor management, storage, DR/business continuity and telecommunications. The role will ensure ongoing suitability, availability, reliability and performance of these IT systems to support business needs.

Further responsibilities of this role will include:

• Build and execute on the IT Operations strategy and project roadmap;
• Lead, develop and mentor the IT Operations team (8 direct reports);
• Budget management for IT Operations;
• Work with global counterparts within IT Operations to drive efficiencies and consolidation opportunities; and
• Work on exciting projects (some upcoming examples: Citrix upgrade, Windows Server migrations, cyber security initiatives, renegotiation of various vendor contracts, roll out of multiple new sites and ERP server upgrade).

The Successful Candidate

This role is highly visible in the business, providing key support to the CIO and Executive Leadership Team. Within the context of the role described above, the ideal applicant will be someone who has the following key experience/capabilities:

• Minimum of five years' experience in a similar IT Operations Manager or Infrastructure Manager role, ideally in a similarly complex, multi-site environment (all industry backgrounds are encouraged to apply);
• You will have a strong track record managing broad technical teams and will be a leader at heart who takes great pride in uplifting team capability;
• You will possess strong budget and vendor management skills, and will have a reputation of getting things done in your previous roles;
• You will be technically competent across operational technologies and be comfortable juggling multiple competing priorities;
• You will have strong business acumen with a strong customer and continuous improvement focus. You will be resilient and enjoy building trusted relationships with internal stakeholders. Integrity will be very important to you; and
• Above all else, you will have a friendly, positive attitude with high levels of emotional intelligence and maturity.
