Immediate need for an experienced IT/Project Support Engineer to join an organisation south of the river

Your new company

This organisation is based South of the River. They are currently on the search for an experienced Desktop Support Engineer to join their team on an initial 3 month contract, with the view to extend.

Your new role

Working as part of the IT team, you will be responsible for the support and maintenance of a their large IT environment as well as helping with general Desktop duties. You will also assist in the delivery of a number of ongoing projects, and assist the team with organising, and implementing change where needed. This position is ideal for anyone who is looking at moving into the projects and business change space.

What you'll need to succeed

• Demonstrated experience working from a prioritised list
• Documentation – experience submitting forms for account access, security review of applications, follow documented processes
• Documentation – experience developing support and installation documentation and operating procedures
• Documentation – able to undertake and track audits of devices, device purpose, location, serial numbers and interact with staff, in-person, to collect this information
• Can demonstrate a track record of rapidly completing work and avoiding distractions
• Good communication skills, can describe how they will approach a task and keep work notes up to date
• Self starter – demonstrated experience working with varying amounts of supervision while still Keeping supervisor informed of progress and escalating appropriately
• Basic networking skills, could design and wire a simple office 3-5 PCs
• Experience with VPN client software
• PC Build – experience building a windows PC using Microsoft tools or an SOE
• Software installation, experience following vendor instructions for software installation, including more complex software
• Some experience with android mobile devices, MDM experience desirable
