If you’re a Software Engineer (Data) with proven experience in Scala, Python or Java and Big data tooling such as Kafka, Spark or Hive and want to gain more hands on exposure to AI and Machine Learning then a role at Eliiza could be a great career move for you!

What you’ll be doing:

• Work with some of the best Data Scientists and Engineers to deliver production-grade AI and Machine Learning systems as we deliver client projects from inception to production.
• Consulting with our clients and working with them to build modern data systems using the ‘best of’ technologies and principles.
• Advising clients on data strategy, architecture and technology.
• Applying best software engineering practices in coding, monitoring and alerting, using CI/CD, TDD and cloud architectures.

We’d love to hear from you if you:

• Have experience in programming with Python, Scala or Java (SQL is good too).
• Understand the concepts of Streaming data and parallel processing, and ideally have hands-on practice with one (or more) of Kafka, Kinesis, Beam or Pubsub.
• Have worked with Big Data Tooling (e.g. Spark, Hadoop, Hive, Airflow).
• Understand foundational principles such as data partitioning, the “map-reduce” concept, normalized vs denormalized data, functional programming.

We’d be over the moon if you:

• Have experience with a variety of databases e.g. RDMS, Columar, Time series, Graph.
• Have an understanding of data governance.
• Can contribute to the vision and long-term strategy in your domain of expertise.
• Are a department-level expert in a particular area or go-to person for solving problems in your domain of expertise.
